Changes to Nominations
We appreciate your cooperation

As the Maiden has seen quite a large influx of new competitors to Paradise this year, we would like to re-iterate the conditions for competing at our draft

  1. Any changes to runs must be made no later the one hour before the event starts at the secretaries office.
Any changes that are not made at the office first will be scratched automatically, including any Arena 2 or 3 nominations.

  2. Horses are to run in the order they are drawn (as nominated by you).

  3. All efforts are made to minimise clashes in nominations between Arena's, but not every run can be catered for.
In the event that you do happen to have nominations that clash you must take them in Arena order. (Arena 1, then Arena 2, then Arena 3)

  4. Any clashes must be reported to the Marshalling Steward of the Arena affected.
Failure to do so will mean an automatic scratching.
IIf a run is missed due to a clash, on verification from the Steward, the nomination will be run at the end of the event affected.

We thank you for your support and understanding in this matter.  We are here to run the event for your enjoyment and would appreciate your cooperation with these matters to make our weekend enjoyable too.

6.  Spraying will be available on the grounds at users cost.

Hendra Virus - Recommendations for Competitors
We ask competitors to be vigiliant

Due to the public concern about the recent outbreaks of Hendra virus, we're offering the following recommendations to competitors attending the Paradise Lagoons Campdraft

  • Practice good biosecurity, good hygiene and decontamination of equipment.
  • Do not share equipment, including food & water containers between horses. Avoid use of communal water troughs.
  • If using a communal hose, avoid touching buckets when filling with water to avoid spreading disease from previous bucket.
  • Do not take sick/unwell horses to an event, horse owners should not knowingly take sick horses to events.
  • Competitors must notify an event official if they suspect a horse is sick.
  • Sick horses must be promptly isolated and seek veterinary advice.
  • Any equipment in contact with the sick horse should also be isolated.
  • Clean your equipment thoroughly before leaving home to attend Paradise.
  • Shampoo is an excellent product for minimising disease carrying possibilities as it changes the PH level of your horses skin, thereby providing a hostile environment for any infectious diseases.

Due to the large numbers of horse which will be present at Paradise Lagoons we urge all horse owners/trainers to be extremely vigilant and report signs of sickness immediately to the organising committee.
